For schools, running enterprises
and executing work-study programs is a good way to make
up fund shortages. Since 1992, the government has reduced
or exempted tax for school-run enterprises and established
a working fund system for such enterprises. The running
of enterprises has not only changed the concept of school
administrators but also promoted the integration of teaching,
research and production and speeded up the commercialization
of research findings. Enterprises established by institutions
of higher learning have achieved good economic results
in the process of commercializing research findings. In
fact, many of them now provide financial support to their
parent schools. |
